poe eventually shifts back (when the sun rises, most likely). and he sure is thankful to have been unconscious for the whole ordeal, because before he even opens his eyes his awareness is nothing but pain. there's a soreness that resides deep in his bones; he still feels too hot. every thing is loud and he knows if he opens his eyes it will be too bright so he's just going to keep them closed. (at least it feels more on par with a hangover now.)
there is a whole half-second while he's lying there, not quite awake, that he almost forgets why he hurts. like maybe he did just drink too much the night before... but then the thought is gone. whoosh.
