[meanwhile, re: peeping: there are a few people/aliens here, at different tables, but they all seem involved in either eating or having quiet conversations and not paying attention to these two weirdos and their small droid son. a waitress who looks bored and very much like "oh great look at these recently crying gays, just what i always wanted … not" comes over to unceremoniously drop menus on the table and ask if they want anything to drink. ]
