IC Info

Name: Poe Dameron
Canon: Star Wars (CRAU)
Age: 34
Appearance: link! as of crau, he's now notably paler in complexion and has some gnarly but faded over scars on his chest and over his hipbone. as of his previous time in penance, he has "pride" carved in his inner arm.
Canon Point: the middle of the last jedi, after poe commits mutiny.
Background: wiki link
CRAU:
Poe actually has CRAU from two games — Futuro and Zhautas. He spent half a year in one and one year in the other. And he went through a lot.
Futuro:
+ The most important one is that he (accidentally) befriended Thrawn, an Imperial officer from home who definitely should have been labeled as an enemy. He gave him a gray morality starter pack by patting him on the head and validating some of his poor leadership decisions — the ends justify the means, truly. By the time he left Hathaway, he was way more pragmatic and accepting that sometimes doing The Right Thing is really ugly and messy.
Zhautas:
+ He was literally psychologically tortured at least once. It was a stepping stone for a slow motion mental breakdown, which culminated in
+ Being murdered by Kylo Ren. In Futuro, after a really long time arguing with Rey, he finally started to tolerate Kylo Ren's presence as a person. That ended when Kylo got jealous for literally no reason and stuck a lightsaber through his chest. he took this VERY VERY BADLY.
+ While he was being messy and trying to post an expose about how horrible Kylo Ren is on the network, Camille Belcourt — a vampire — approached him like "If you REALLY want protection against him, I have an idea so crazy it just might work." Being in the middle of a breakdown and existential crisis, he thought becoming a vampire was actually a good idea and did it. The later half of his Zhautas adventure was him grappling with this and feeling very strongly like he made a mistake.
+ On the bright side, after a game-long slow burn, he was in a committed relationship with Finn Lastname.

Also his previous time in Penance? If that counts as CRAU?

Personality:

Poe is blessed and cursed with an intense sense of morality and righteousness. He always wants to do the right thing because it's been instilled in him from a young age by his parents, who both enlisted and fought for the Rebels in the Galactic Civil War. He hero worships his mother, who was also a pilot with a sense for adventure and believed the best in everything and everyone. She died (presumably) of natural causes when he was young, but she had a huge hand in shaping the person he is today.

He's an idealist and wants to believe the best in people. When Finn pulled him out of First Order prison, he could have treated him with contempt or only helped him so far as getting them both out of the Starkiller base, but he immediately started treating him like a friend instead, giving him a name instead of a number.

The problem with Poe, however, is that he can get so obsessed with doing the right thing that he doesn't think ahead to the consequences of his actions. He is impulsive and reckless, which sometimes helps him take big risks that end up paying off in the end (such as the mission he decided to go on that ended in Leia recruiting him to Resistance— going after a First Order freighter while "on patrol"), but other times this can blow up in this face (such as The Last Jedi. The entire movie.) He gets so caught up in the big picture, sometimes he overlooks the details. His entire arc of The Last Jedi was about learning to understand the consequences of his actions— e.g., just because they were in a good position to take out a First Order dreadnought doesn't mean it was worth the losses they sustained because he wouldn't pull back.

He also has a problem with authority, meaning … if they aren't doing what he deems to be the right thing, he will kick down the door and do it his damn self. As you can imagine, that doesn't always go well in a military setting.

Not to mention, he has a mouth that gets him in trouble. Not only will he speak out (and probably make a scene) if he disagrees with literally anything, he's a bit of a smart-ass and can't resist having the last word or making some stupid quip. Literally not even being tortured will stop him. He is non-stop.

It's an understatement to say that Leia is important to Poe. In Before the Awakening, when he first meets her, he recognizes that they both carry the same losses. Him his mother, and her Ben Solo (presumably?). I think he leans on her as a surrogate mother much in the same way she probably uses him as a surrogate son because he is a lot like Ben Solo tbf. In the sense that they're both reckless as hell and All About The Drama.

It's a good thing he's also highly charismatic; Leia recognizes his potential to be a leader early on. In the comics, there are moments where she's clearly mentoring him to be a leader in the Resistance for when the time comes that she won't be there anymore — e.g., when a member of his squadron dies, she grounds him until he realizes that the war just isn't "his" fight, he has to think about everyone else involved, too. Furthermore, his squadron trusts him thoroughly. They didn't have to choose to follow him into the Resistance from the Republic or to follow him further on dire missions in the comics. He gives them the option to opt out frequently, but they choose to stay out of faith in him.

Basically, he has the foundation to be a really great leader and all-around great person, but he's real rough around the edges and Doing the Best He Can.

Weaknesses/Temptations: Feeling powerless is a HUGE trigger for him. He has made some really bad decisions simply because he felt like it was what he Needed to do to be in control. He also has a little bit of a martyr complex, so doing things he thinks are ~for the greater good~ or to ~protect the people he cares about~ is a really easy way to knock him off the path of doing actual right things.

Sins:
+ Pride: He thought he knew better than all of his superiors in the Resistance, so much so that he disobeyed orders and got half the Resistance killed just because he was stubborn.
+ Murder: Maybe not in the actual literal sense, but he holds himself responsible for the deaths of the people in the Resistance who died because of that bad call. He's also actually killed people being a solider in battle, so.
+ Suicide: To become a vampire he had to kill himself — with the assistance of a friend, but still. Assisted suicide still counts.
+ Wrath: He's a dude with a temper and can be very aggressive when he wants to be. Most of the time it's just breaking things with temper tantrums but he did attack and almost actually kill Kylo Ren in Zhautas.
+ Assault
+ Lying
+ Harming the innocent (collateral damage in battle)
+ Mutiny
+ Selfishness

Powers/Abilities:
As a vampire:
He's a Shadowhunters-brand vampire for reference but in summation:
+ Super strength, speed, quick healing
+ Enhanced smell, sight, and hearing
+ "Encanto"—the ability to mesmerize and essentially control others through a combination of eye contact, vocal commands, and hand gestures. (he can't really do this because he's a baby)
+ When he bites people, the venom acts as a sedative/pain reliever/aphrodisiac.

Normal human stuff:
+ He's an amazing pilot and has claimed to be able to fly anything.
+ In Poe Dameron's Flight Log, he talks about jury-rigging pod racer engines to farm equipment and is shown hotwiring a speeder, so he has some level of mechanical aptitude and is presumably able to do repairs and modifications to ships.
+ He has a military background, so he's competent with strategy and fighting (with a blaster).

Items:
+ He has a small (toy-sized) robot that was gifted to him by Oliver Hampton in Futurology: I made an info post about it here. Sometimes he treats it like a pet because he likes to humanize droids but it really is just like… a roomba with some primitive ai (dumber than siri).
+ He has a necklace with a ring (his mother's) and a piece of metal that looks like dog tag (his old futuro "network device")
