he's already proven that he's on a completely different page as everyone else about the mission. he probably thinks things are fine the way they are. or, at least, he has a different definition of "purging the government of corruption." i know he thinks rost is a joke.
i haven't because rey is getting something out of spending time with him, i guess. he's the only other one like her and it's really important to her. and he's probably ... maybe he's behaving for the same reason. "behaving."
and honestly i didn't think of reporting him until now
[so everyone can judge him. it's nice to know poe isn't insane (about this one specific thing.)]
kind of. [he just loves bringing this up. so much. not, it makes him feel like the shittiest shit because he holds himself responsible for it. it took weeks for him to be like "btw this happened" to finn and rey, so???] it was a nothing thing, really. he wanted to know who else from home was here, i wouldn't tell him. instead of looking around with his eyes to find out for himself, he ripped the information out of my head. i didn't want
it's not like i can report him for that. it was stupid. i was being stupid. and i figured maybe it was a one-time thing. i'm not so sure now.
[ Holy shit, Poe, no, what? Scott's gotta stop and take a couple of horrified seconds to think of what to say. ]
Poe, I know a lot of telepaths. My mentor, my best friend, members of my family— they can all do it. It's a common mutation. And the FIRST RULE of being a telepath is that you don't read someone's mind without permission. If they don't want you in there, you don't go in there. You don't dig for what you want. You don't even take a peek. People have a right to the privacy of their own minds.
It's not a "nothing thing", it's a huge, painful violation. It's not stupid. You weren't being stupid. You didn't do anything to deserve that, because what the hell could deserve that kind of response? Not withholding information. Not anything. If you wanted to report him for that, I would back you in a heartbeat.
[ poe is not that Emotional but he might take a second to go "have allergies" somewhere because wow he feels so ??validated?? rey and finn did not validate him this much. (finn did validate him but didn't go into it with the same depth that scott is doing right now.) wow.
he doesn't even know what to say? there is a long-ish response delay because his big mood is stunned silence. ]
thanks. that means a lot to me. sometimes i feel like people don't really get it. how bad it is. was. the first time was worse, i guess i was just trying to write it off in comparison.
i think he's going to do it again. maybe. i'm not sure. i know he and rey are planning something, it wouldn't surprise me if that was part of the plan.
i didn't think so either, but it's a whole situation. there's someone from about 30 years in our past here, and she thinks he wants to change things so the losing side in the last war won. i don't think he's
it's not easy to explain. it's complicated. we should be working together while we're here regardless, right? it shouldn't matter.
but rey asked me for information about him, and i gave it to her before i realized her and kylo want this guy gone. not just in a reporting him way, they wanna do it with their own hands. mind powers. whatever.
Well, for one— I agree with you. Whether we like it or not, whether we like each other or not, we agreed to be part of a team. Out of naked self-interest, if nothing else, we should try to pull together.
Two, that isn't how time works. Your past already happened. Even if they succeeded in getting rid of him, or he succeeded in changing something, it's likely it'd just create an alternative timeline. They might end up completely erasing their (your?) version of the universe and displace themselves from the timeline(s) entirely.
[ Scott absolutely thinks in parentheses. ]
People have done that, you know. Changed something in their past, and technically became permanent refugees in another timeline.
permanent refugees? how? we'd never be able to go home? or we'd go "back" and everything would be different?
i was thinking about it, though. if we have incentives that would change things in our timelines, and we get them and we go back ... isn't everyone trying to change their timelines, technically? the only way to not "change" a timeline is to do nothing at all.
In theory, yeah, you'll be creating a new timeline. But you'll be living in that one. It'll be your reality. Even if another reality exists in which you didn't change anything, you won't be living in that one. Another Poe Dameron will live there, doing whatever he would have done if things had proceeded along whatever trajectory you find unsatisfactory. Do you follow?
so it's like i said. everyone's trying to change their timeline one way or another. almost everyone. so ... we *want* to be refugees, right? we have to leave our timeline that was gonna go whatever way it was gonna go to get to the better one, but we'll still know about the other one.

[ Can you tell someone was not impressed by that logic. ]
What does "behaving" mean? Did he torture you here?

I can't see Rey being okay with that or agreeing to do something like that.
