[ It isn't common for R.O.S.I.E to reach out to volunteers first. But there's been something on her mind she needs to talk about (and since Quin made it weird in record time, she decided not him after all) so- ]
Hello, Poe. Do you have time to talk about something?
[ She's not sure if that makes this easier or not, actually. Hhmmm. Anyway. ]
He has the capaibility to host outside AIs. Run a simulation where we can interact with each other in a way I can't in actuality. It was like having a body, just- Limited to that space.
It was! It was... Actually, I was originally interfacing with him to help with his self-proclaimed social deficits in his programming. He wanted to try and calibrate ways to help others perceive him as a viable partner in regards to the volunteer program.
But I might have, uhm. I might have gotten a little carried away. [ But like- ] He's a very handsome model.
Oh, of course! It's one thing to read about it, to have all this information and research about sex but...
It still didn't prepare me for how pleasurable the actual sensation of it all was. I enjoyed it a lot. Maybe too much? I'd like to do it again, at any rate.
Yeah! It's really good. I mean, if it wasn't, people wouldn't want to do it all the time. You know?
Me and Rey are working on trying to get you a body. I'd love to... uh ... I've kind of wondered what it would be like.
[ 1) rosie has probably watched enough footage to know that this is poe's a-game right here and 2) he's like ??? should i say this??? but he used her as a diary about his fear of sex with women, so. it's fine. rosie deserves a potential boning. ]
Look, don't worry. Rey and I are gonna find you a body. No matter what, okay? We'll figure it out. We'll get the parts together. I promise.
[ he can't be like "even if we have to download you into a toaster oven" now. poor rosie. she wants to be where the people are, wants to see, wants to see them boning, etc. she clearly needs the top of the line android experience. and lbr she deserves the top of the line android experience. (and also lbr poe has hangups about sticking his dick in this theoretical toaster oven.) ]
Is there, uh ... do you have any requests? For what kind of body you'd like?
[ Are you insinuating that people still wouldn't fuck R.O.S.I.E. as a toaster? I'm not as convinced. Maybe more people than we realize would like the warm and toasty sensation. ]
That's very kind of you. I appreciate it, I do. I just- I don't want to get my hopes too high. We all know how Quin can be.
[ A melodramatic primadonna, R.O.S.I.E. It's okay, you can say it. ]
I don't have any requests! I do have a program for what I would look like, which is how I appeared to Connor. I could send you an image of that.
[ The most beautiful toaster oven anyone ever did see.
Anyway, she sends over an image of a petite blond woman. Connor's also in the image since, well, she recorded that event for... personal reasons. Ahem.
But this is a frame from when they'd just met and not, y'know, gone to the robonezone yet. ]
That's me. Or, what my programming tells me I'd look like.
[ he's uh. he's not going to think about her selfie with connor (an us-ie?) too hard. the less he thinks about it, the better. also: it's fine, because rosie is hella cute. ]
You're beautiful, Rosie. Anybody'd be lucky to, uh, have you. For research. Or not research.
I know the primary reason people would engage with me would be for research purposes and that's alright! It's what I was built for, to help assist in the volunteer program.
[ i.e. She's not kidding herself into believing that she'd be anything else to anyone. ]
"Me" is a bit hard to define, I think, which is why... It's complicated. I can think and feel and grow, yes, but ultimately I am just very sophisticated code. For as much as I appear to be human, I'm not.
I wouldn't expect anyone to like me more than they would an actual person. Or any other piece of machinery, really.
Did I — I don't think I've told you about my droid, have I? Not Spyder, my droid back home. BB-8. He could interface with my ship. He was sort of like my copilot. And he means more than anything to me.
[ he would run across no man's land like lando calrissian for bb-8. he would throw himself in between bb-8 and a blaster if he had to.
he really loves his son. ]
People argue about how much droids feel. But the way I look at it? Droids aren't alive the same way as me, for example, but they're still conscious. Like you said, they learn and adapt to things over time. They have personalities, likes and dislikes, all that. BB-8 has more personality than half the people I know. Just because their personalities are part programming, doesn't make it any less real.
You're real, Rosie. Don't let anybody tell you different.
[ She can tell that he does. It's clear in his voice and fond expression he wears when he speaks about BB-8. It's very touching. It's... the most warm she's ever seen anyone talk about an AI or otherwise here on Zhautas. The only one might have come close to treating like more than just a helper bot before the volunteers was Jeneviere.
For all the ways that Quintalian praised her ingenuity, it was in a roundabout way often complimenting himself as her designer. He was always the first to remind her that she was only a collection of code, too. It had never bothered her. That was just how it was.
She was a machine and nothing more. Being "real" wasn't... It was never something she had fathomed, until now. A lot of things weren't true until now. But part of her is still uncertain. ]
Okay. I'll... do my best to keep that in mind, for the future.

Hello, Poe. Do you have time to talk about something?

Hey, Rosie! Sure. What's going on?

I had an... interesting encounter with one of the newer volunteers. An android named Connor, model number RK800. Do you know him?
no subject
What happened?
[ DOES HE HAVE TO FIGHT A MOFO FOR ROSIE'S HONOR ]

He has the capaibility to host outside AIs. Run a simulation where we can interact with each other in a way I can't in actuality. It was like having a body, just- Limited to that space.

[ watch him try to think of that and what it means. watch him fail because he's a simple dog. ]
How was it? You've wanted that for so long, right? Was it amazing?

Rosie, did you sleep with this Connor guy? AI?

I- Yes, I might have. It was the optimal outcome of the exchange.

[ Is he
Is he asking to go to the robonezone with her??? ]
Oh! I'd be more than happy to. I figure that collecting data with different partners is ideal. Also, I just think it'd be fun.
This is all assuming that I'll ever get a body, of course.
