and for that reason, she can only imagine how hard this must be on him. she had seen it tear at keith, who wouldn't talk about it. she's hoping she can elicit some exploration of the matter from poe by prodding at him. ]

[ ~love~ is really easy when you're in love with someone after knowing them for a few days. (okay, a couple weeks, we'll be generous.) then five months rolls around, the other person sees a side of you they don't like, and then they completely ghost you. and transfer. to get away from you.

when he first saw finn on the beach, his initial reaction was to immediately tell him everything about the thrawn situation. just come on out with that whole mess despite him innocently showing up like troy barnes with a pizza. but if he could talk about it, if he could get finn to know it from his side, he'd understand it. he wouldn't hate him as a person and ghost him again.

and then they had a Friendly Normal Conversation and his brain was like "OR you could tell him and he'd STILL hate you as a person." only there's nowhere to transfer to get away from him here. instead, finn could awkwardly avoid him the whole time they were with zenith. what a great way to spend the next indeterminable amount of time in their lives. ]

Because it's not about whether he's likely to react in a way that you like. He deserves to make his own choice.

[ She had to swallow down a whole spiel about how sometimes things look like the end when it's really just the middle and you have to tough it out and how she learned that from Her Friends (and Ben) and there's always hope. For that. Because that's really the crux.

Anything less than honesty is living a lie to make himself feel better instead of confronting those problems. It's using Finn. Plain and simple. ]

Well things with Finn are the same. Even if you had thought it through, you still would have told him how you felt, and he'd still have felt the same! That's not the kind of thing you can just ignore until it goes away.

[ Meanwhile Rey's brain is screaming with all of her own newfound intimacy issues. But Ben came back. Ben still cared. And Finn and Poe were ??? kind of her light at the end of the tunnel kind of 'look how good it can be' target for a while. So seeing Poe ripped up like this, shitting on that ... hurts. It's a wake-up call for sure. ]

He didn't say anything then either. I think it was too hard for him. But Poe, it didn't mean he thought I was a monster, and it didn't mean he hated you either. They probably didn't give him a choice.
